So, I’ve penciled in some vacation time, booked a flight to Denver for Friday afternoon, and am taking the laptop and camera along with me to the cabin. I’ll be up there for a week or so and send you a video. I’m going to shoot the cabin, the trees, mountains, streams, and everything else that will remind me of you (and you of me) and our time together that wonderful weekend. I’ll even take videos of the local wildlife (including me). Only, this nature film is for your private viewing, only. I just want to imagine you as close to me now, as we were then. It’s so hard to cope with you being gone. Sometimes I am not sure how to get through the day.

(From Dr. Willis to Commander Lewis: Penny Castle appears to be suffering some major separation anxiety due to being apart from Tom. Appears to show the beginnings of depression. She is scheduling a trip to their cabin in Colorado, which will help, but I am advising counseling. I recommend contacting her family doctor.)
Of course, Tom and Penny’s idea of a cabin is only a little short of a luxury ski lodge. With one phone call before leaving for the airport, their good friends and neighbors, Ben and Cassie, would head on up the road to the cabin, flip on the main breaker, set the thermostat to 70°, plow the drive, shovel and salt as needed, and switch on the front porch light. The hot tub on the back patio would be bubbling; a bottle of wine set out to chill in the snow bank next to it, so Tom and Penny could watch the stars twinkling over the mountain.
